Denis Sassou Nguesso University >>> Work in progress

Each consecutive trip to the site brings home the massive scale of the task at hand. 8 of the 25 buildings that form the complex started a few months ago and the site has seen the construction team growing at an exponential rate with the building works accelerating, all while taking into account the logistical challenges of this emerging country.

The student’s residences are the most advanced of the buildings, with the structure now reaching the second storey. Technically, the majority of the building elements including prefab structural elements, concrete blocks and a concrete plant are on-site, with a strong priority given to conventional construction methods and materials, all while employing local workers and avoiding, whenever possible, expensive, complex and wasteful imports.

Digital model and bird’s eye view perspectives show the masterplan layout.
